Arka Retail — Digital Flagship
Retail · Bengaluru — A growing retail brand trapped in a template site — rebuilt into a flagship that sells.
Demonstration project — designed and built in-house by JSVita to show the standard, not client work. Project Status: Delivered · Demo Build.
Overview
The engagement at a glance
A growing retail brand with strong merchandise and no digital presence to match. JSVita was engaged to design and build a bespoke digital flagship — a full replacement for a template theme that leaked trust at every step of the shopping journey.
Challenge
Where they started
Arka's merchandise deserved better than a template theme. Pages loaded slowly, the product journey buried what visitors came for, and the design actively leaked trust — shoppers browsed, then left to buy elsewhere. Enquiries trickled in through DMs with no structure and no analytics.
Research
What the research showed
Before a single screen was designed, the build started with research: the product catalogue was mapped by margin and demand, competitor flagships were deconstructed for journey patterns, and the old template's analytics showed exactly where shoppers stalled. The finding that shaped everything — visitors wanted to buy, but the site gave them no structured path.
Design Process
From brief to visual system
Design discovery
Brand moodboards and a typographic direction — premium, gallery-like, product-first.
Journey mapping
Every page assigned one job: arrival → browse → product → enquiry.
Wireframe to visual design
Low-fi layouts approved in days, then dressed in the luxury visual language.
Mobile-first refinement
The phone experience designed first — where the majority of retail traffic lives.
Development Process
What we built
Bespoke React storefront
A luxury storefront designed around the merchandise — no theme, no compromise.
Conversion architecture
Page-by-page journey mapping: every scroll leads to one clear next step.
Headless content system
Products and campaigns editable by the team — no developer bottleneck.
Edge hosting & performance
Sub-second loads with analytics and events wired from launch.
Technology Stack
The stack behind it
- Bespoke React storefront
- Headless content system
- Edge hosting & CDN
- Analytics & event tracking
- Schema.org structured data
Outcome
What it earned
A flagship that reads like a global brand and converts like a sales team. The first working demo landed within 48 hours of kickoff — and the final build gave Arka a presence its competitors still cannot match.
Before JSVita
- Template theme, generic look
- ~6s mobile load on 4G
- Enquiries via DMs, untracked
- No analytics or event data
After JSVita
- Bespoke flagship design
- ~1s mobile load target
- Forms + WhatsApp pipeline
- Full conversion tracking
Lessons Learned
What it taught us
- Template themes cap a brand's ceiling — bespoke design pays for itself in trust.
- Conversion architecture matters more than visual polish alone; the two compound.
- A content system handed to the client's team removes the biggest post-launch bottleneck.
